I didn’t know I was submissive, not until him, not until he threatened to pull me over his knees. That one moment began a journey I hadn’t expected to love so very much. And when I lost him; my lover, business partner, and the man I’d called Sir, I retreated inside myself, lost and uncertain. I put one foot in front of the other, shutting off my emotions, and my needs. I was content to simply exist.
Then, Jared came along. Sitting in my café, browsing my bookshelves, quietly pushing himself under my skin until I was no longer content to exist inside my walls. He was different than the man I’d lost, but at the same time, he was everything I’d tried to hide from, everything I had convinced myself I no longer wanted.
Jared wanted me. He wanted my submission. But how could I give it? How could I allow him to break me when I didn’t want to be broken anymore?

Claire breaks hard in this emotionally charged short story. The circumstances of her Dom’s death has left her even more broken. This one man sitting in her cafe is patient and irritating. Giving him what he wants isn’t on her agenda, but then again what she needs is this one man who can hold her together as she finally breaks down and is reborn.
This is a short story and it moves quickly from the beginning to a happy for now ending. Emotionally draining as you wonder how you would react to the one person you adore more than life leaving you. I loved Claire and just how dedicated she was to her man, but I also wanted to see her break from her mourning and find a new love, a new life. Jared was wonderful. Patient but dominant. He knew when to allow Claire to grieve and when to push her harder. He wasn’t going anywhere and that felt right.
Not a fiery fall into bed and spank the hell out of your ass book. This one makes you feel and think. A great story!

Break Me The Club edition by Lissa Matthews The Club Series Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Claire had suffered a great loss but was hard to get over it and live again. In walks Jared and all hell breaks loose. He taught her to live again.
I love this series it's Intriguing and Hot. Claire lost someone she loved very much. What she does not expect is to fall for Jared who is a Dominant. I could not put this book down.
Jared come to Claire’s Coffee shoppe and Bookstore every day. She intrigues him, she is sad. Jared breaks down her defenses.
I really loved this book. It was sweet, a little pushy, but mostly gratifying.
I would definitely recommend.
This is the book I've been waiting for! I loved the broken characters and how they are searching for what they need and finally find it in each other. The subject matter is dark, but with a deeply developed love story. Loss and redemption are the themes in this complex story line. The BDSM content plays off the psychological aspects of the lifestyle. This book is true to life and anyone in the BDSM community will see the ties to the real relationship between a Dom and sub. I highly recommend this fresh twist on a genre that, in many cases, has become redundant. This book is a new concept with a very sexy thread throughout. I highly recommend this book for all Lissa Matthew lovers. I also enjoyed the heat level and powerful voice Lissa has represented. This author has so many facets and each one a joy to read.
Break Me is an emotion-filled read--I really enjoyed watching Claire as she broke through her grief and Jared's tenderness as he helps her. Well written and hard to put down.
There is so much emotion in this story you know there is something behind it. You can tell the author poured her soul into it. I had to find something light to read when I finished. It's just that gut wrenching. The heroine breaks in front of you and is reborn. But it takes some time to get to the finish line of rebuilding her from the inside out. I wondered if I would rate it 5 stars but I just can't go there with something that breaks my heart so much. Spot on writing. This author knows what she is doing.
I have followed Lissa Matthews work for a while now and can honestly say I believe this to be her best work to date.
This is a BDSM story, but it is so much more than that. It is a story about discovering yourself and the inner strength it takes to climb out of a very dark place. The journey from darkness back into the light is deep, emotional and heart-warming. The characters are not just simply one dimentional beings who love BDSM. Don't get me wrong, they both thrive in that atmosphere, but there is so much more to them and their connection.
I so enjoyed this book and the characters Lissa gave me. I can honestly recommend any book she writes. But this one...........I urge anyone who enjoys an amazing reading adventure to read this one. You will not be disappointed.
